Steelers experiment with LB Sutton Smith on offense at OTAs

From the moment the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted EDGE Sutton Smith in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft, speculation began about where exactly he’d play in the NFL. At Steelers’ organized team activities, Pittsburgh decided to think way outside the box and take Smith back to his days in high school when they worked him on the offensive side of the football.

It’s easy to get caught up in Smith, as his college film is fun to watch. His burst is crazy and he is absolutely relentless. The first thought when he was drafted because of his lack of size, inside linebacker would be a better fit.

The best thing Smith can do is make himself indispensable. Whether that is on defense, offense or special teams, he needs to find an area where he can stand out if he wants to make the final roster.
