Steelers' Dupree fined for vicious hit on Dolphins QB Matt Moore

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree said he was fined for his crushing hit on Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore in Sunday's AFC wild-card game.

Dupree, who made the disclosure to ESPN on Thursday, told ESPN he wasn't sure of the amount but he'd likely appeal. According to the network, he was fined $18,231.

Dupree was flagged for roughing the passer on the play.

Moore said after the game he didn't consider it a dirty hit.

Midway through the second quarter of Pittsburgh's 30-12 win, Moore absorbed perhaps the most crushing hit of the Dolphins' season.

As Moore rolled right and threw an incomplete pass to wide receiver Jarvis Landry, Dupree leveled him after just getting rid of the ball. Dupree's helmet made contact with Moore's chin and jaw area.

The NFL and NFLPA are reviewing the concussion protocol that Moore underwent because he only missed one play.

Moore lay on the ground, on his back, after taking the hit. Moore then sat up, with medical personnel at his side, for roughly one minute, 13 seconds after the hit.

Moore was on the bench talking to medical personnel roughly two minutes and 41 seconds after taking the hit.

Roughly three and 45 seconds after being hit, Moore was on his feet, helmet on, talking to coach Adam Gase.

About five minutes and 10 seconds after taking the hit, Moore was back on the field, taking another snap.

Dupree hasn't been suspended, so he'll be on the field for Sunday's 1 p.m. divisional playoff game at Kansas City.
