Steelers DT Cam Heyward is tired of the finger pointing: ‘I’ll break their damn finger if they do’

Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle is done with the excuses and finger-pointing. Heyward’s frustration was evident when he spoke to the media on Tuesday.

Heyward is exactly right. Playing as poorly as the Steelers have takes a village. From players to coaches there is plenty of blame to go around. As far as the fanbase goes, most fans typically fall on one side or the other. They either chose to blame the coaches or they chose to blame the players. And truth be told they are both right.

The problem with this is, no matter how upset the players get about this, they cannot change the way the coaches coach. The best they can do is play sound fundamental football and don’t let mental errors dissuade even the best-laid plans. And make no mistake, Heyward is the example. More than once last week Heyward was making plays 30 yards down the field.

The Steelers come back home this week to take on the winless Cincinnati Bengals.
