Steelers coach Mike Tomlin roasts ESPN’s coverage of Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin took to ESPN to attack ESPN’s coverage of the Myles Garrett vs. Mason Rudolph brouhaha that just won’t go away. Tomlin took ESPN to task for presenting Garrett’s side of the story without paying much mind to Rudolph. The longtime Steelers coach pulled no punches in taking up for his quarterback.

ESPN aired a much-hyped interview with Garrett by reporter Mina Kimes on Saturday. In the interview, Garrett once again reasserted his allegation that Rudolph ignited the ugly fracas by calling him the “N-word”, something he also said happened back in November after the brawl at the end of Cleveland’s win in primetime.

There has been no corroborating evidence to support Garrett’s claim, and Tomlin didn’t like that he felt ESPN didn’t point that out. He supported Rudolph’s stark rebuttal not by going after Garrett but rather ESPN itself.

Tomlin is clearly ready to move on, and it’s easy to support the Steelers coach on that sentiment.
