Just days before the Pittsburgh Steelers final preseason game, the team has announced a pair of moves. Pittsburgh put in a waiver claim on former Cleveland Browns cornerback Jhavonte Dean and was rewarded the rookie.
To make room for Dean on the roster, the Steelers waived defensive back Brian Allen. Dead originally joined the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Miami.
Allen was the Steelers’ fifth-round pick back in 2017. His size and athleticism kept him on the team for two seasons despite his lack of experience. The Steelers play the Carolina Panthers Thursday night in their final preseason game of the year.
