Steelers C Maurkice Pounce on his scrum with Myles Garrett: ‘The fight was worth it’

On Wednesday, Pittsburgh Steelers center re-joined his teammates for the first time since he was suspended for two games for his part in the fight between the Steelers and Cleveland Browns back in Week 11. But when Pouncey spoke to the media on Wednesday, he made it very clear he had no regrets for defending his quarterback.

“The NFL had to make a statement, and rightfully so,” Pouncey said. “At the end of the day, the fight didn’t look good, but the fight was worth it.”

Pouncey went after Browns defensive end Myles Garrett after Garrett his Steelers QB Mason Rudolph over the head with his own helmet. Pouncey took Garrett to the ground and for his actions got himself a three-game suspension later reduced to two.

But for Pouncey, what’s done is done and he seemed to be fine with how it all worked out.

“No regrets,” Pouncey said. “I’ve moved on now, man. Everyone had to pay their fines. Everyone had to do their due diligence. The money was worth it, trust me.”

For his part, Garrett got an indefinite suspension to extend no less than the remainder of this season including the playoffs.
