Steelers bring back LB Robert Spillane to practice squad

It’s a new week and the Pittsburgh Steelers begun the process of shuffling their roster. After serving as a scout-team quarterback last week to simulate Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Steelers have released quarterback Taryn Christion from the practice squad and replaced him with linebacker Robert Spillane.

I wouldn’t read anything into the return of Spillane. Mark Barron suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday but it’s doubtful Spillane is going to make the 53-man roster if he cannot go against the Chargers. With the problems the Steelers currently have at quarterback, look for more moves to come on Tuesday.
