New York governor Kathy Hochul announced that the wild-card playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills has been postponed until Monday at 4:30 p.m. ET due to an impending snowstorm. The game originally was scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
The Buffalo area is expected to experience a severe snowstorm with high winds and bitter wind chill Sunday. Hochul explained that the decision was made to keep citizens safe, and she has been talking with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about the matter.
Buffalo is one of many areas in western New York that is under a state of emergency due to the incoming storm.

In consultation with our emergency response teams, @BuffaloBills leadership, and the NFL, the Bills game will be postponed to 4:30 pm Monday.
The Bills are no stranger to playing snow games, including last year in the divisional round against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the ferocity of this storm is expected to reach its height Sunday afternoon, which could make it dangerous for fans to travel to and from the game.
CBS still will broadcast the Steelers-Bills game, which will be held before Monday night’s final wild-card battle between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
