Steelers betting big on new OL coach Adrian Klemm

Turnover is a part of life in the NFL. Every season players migrate from team to team along with retirements and it is expected that every year there will be changes.

But oh boy did the Pittsburgh Steelers take that to the extreme this offseason. The Steelers have completely re-built their offensive line in just a few short months in an attempt to prepare for the future. Four new starters and the one returning starter in a new position puts new offensive line coach Adrian Klemm in the spotlight and really lays the pressure on him to get this new group on the same page quickly.

How dire is the Steelers offensive line situation? The projected five starters for this season had 1,990 snaps last season. Total. And 1,035 of those were by tackle Chuks Okorafor. You pair that up with a rookie running back and there are more questions than answers with the run game at this point.

Klemm has drawn rave reviews from Steelers players but we won’t know if all of this talk about being more physical will be anything but talk until this group lines up against a defensive line who doesn’t share a locker room with them.
