Steelers asked Anthony Chickillo not to report on Tuesday

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Anthony Chickillo found himself in some legal trouble over the weekend. His arrest has put the Steelers in an uncomfortable position as they prepare to take on the Miami Dolphins. The Steelers released a statement about the incident on Tuesday, but according to Steelers beat writer Gerry Dulac, Chickillo was asked not to report to the team facilities on Tuesday.

Today, the team will have its first official practice of the week. If Chickillo isn’t in the building and on the field with his teammates, it could point to the Steelers either releasing him or placing him on the exempt list.

If the Steelers place him on the exempt list, look for Jayrone Elliott to return or Pittsburgh could put in a waiver claim on Tuzar Skipper. But regardless, this doesn’t bode well for Chickillo and his future with the Steelers.
