Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown's shoe tribute this week will honor two Miami athletes who recently died: Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez and Miami mixed martial artist Kimbo Slice.
Brown, a native of Miami, said he was fined for wearing Muhammad Ali tribute shoes in last week's game against the Jets. After ignoring an NFL employee's request that he remove the shoes before the game coach Mike Tomlin ordered Brown to remove the shoes in the first half.
Brown said Friday he plans to follow the NFL rules, which presumably means he'll wear the tribute shoes during pregame warmups.
Fernandez died Sept. 25 in a boating accident off the coast of Miami Beach, Fla. He was 24. Slice died in June from heart failure. He was 42.
Brown received the league's permission to use his cleats to honor Arnold Palmer after the golfer's death last month.
