Steelers announce pair of roster moves

With injuries at the running back position starting to mount, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday, perhaps to help bolster some depth. The team is preparing to take on the Indianapolis Colts this week. Pittsburgh announced it is releasing tight end Kevin Rader from the practice squad and replacing him with running back Darrin Hall. Hall spent the preseason with the Green Bay Packers.

It’s not a coincidence he played his college ball at Pittsburgh.

James Conner is currently dealing with an AC joint sprain and Benny Snell Jr. has a knee injury. Hall is definitely not the cavalry and with so many talented free agents out there, this move doesn’t make much sense. If Conner and Snell can’t go, the Steelers will go into their biggest game of the season with Jaylen Samuels and Trey Edmunds as the team’s primary backs.
