Just moments after announcing the opening week depth chart for the 2020 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their team captains as well. Here are your Steelers captains for the upcoming season.
Offense: Ben Roethlisberger and Maurkice Pouncey
Defense: Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt
Special Teams: Jordan Dangerfield
No surprises here. Big Ben and Pouncey have been a constant on this team for such a long time and the return of Roethlisberger after missing last season makes this one even more fitting.
Heyward and Watt are the leaders and best players on arguably the best defense in the NFL. This is a nice touch after Heyward getting his massive new contract on the same day. This is Watt’s first time as a captian.
Dangerfield is such a constant on special teams despite having very little impact on defense after all these seasons. He’s finally being rewarded as captain for the first time.
