Steelers agree to trade for Jags LB Joe Schobert

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a great defense but they can always be better. Pittsburgh made a move to improve an already formidable defense by making a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars for linebacker Joe Schobert according to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero.

Schobert is an old-school inside linebacker and a tackling machine. In five seasons, Schobert has started 65 games and topped 100 total tackles in four of five seasons. Schobert is also exceptional in coverage. Schobert has 549 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, nine forced fumbles and nine interceptions.

Before the start of the 2020 season, Schobert signed a five-year, $53.75 million salary with the Jaguars after spending his first four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Schobert’s 2021 salary is fully guaranteed. Schobert’s 2021 cap hit is $9.88 million.
