The Pittsburgh Steelers announced a pair of roster moves on Wednesday. The team has activated guard Stefen Wisniewski from IR to the 53-man roster and to make room placed linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III on Reserve/Injured.
Gilbert missed last week’s game after suffering a back injury the week before. This was what prompted the Steelers to trade for Avery Williamson and help with the lack of depth at linebacker.
For Wisniewski, his return gives the Steelers a solid option to backup all three interior offensive line spots. Rookie Kevin Dotson has been tremendous but adding Wisniewski to the mix gives the Steelers a must better option as a backup center should Maurkice Pouncey get hurt. Pouncey has dealt with some minor injuries this season already.
