A steakhouse owner hit back at a one-star TripAdvisor review written by a customer who blasted its American theme as "naff".
A customer of Texas Rocks in Yeovil, Somerset gave the restaurant a negative review and said that while the service was "good", the food was a "let down".
The reviewer claimed the steaks at the restaurant were “mediocre” and the chilli “tasted like a bland microwave meal”, reported SomersetLive.
The person also took aim at the Jack Daniel's theme, describing the brand as "rather naff", though the owner wrote back saying the restaurant “will stay naff”.
The reviewer continued: “Lots of the sides you'd want homemade tasted cheap, mass-produced and nothing like what you have in the US.”
The person was also not happy at the price as they said they had paid “a lot for the privilege of all this."
But the owner of Texas Rocks didn't take the criticism sitting down and took to the travel website with a measured response.
The owner wrote: “Every meal is cooked fresh. We do make our chilli mild as it is an ingredient for other dishes and do not want it overpowering flavours.
“It is individually cooked so we could have made it to your specific taste.”
In terms of the steaks, they said Texas Rocks sources “the very best meat” and it is on display in the kitchen, where they can invite customers in to choose their cut.
The reviewer concluded by saying that Jack Daniel's is “rather naff”.
But the owner said the whiskey is the highest selling in the world by “a staggering amount”, so they “will stay naff”.
The Texas Rocks owner added: “During your meal, our care servers usually check back a couple of times to check everything is to your liking. If not we take it away and cook you a fresh dish.
“Every day we give it 110 per cent, so we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your time at Texas Rocks.”
