Steak, Cattle & Roll's Mammoth Burger Challenge is back after three-year absence

Us Glaswegians like a challenge. We also like burgers.

So this new offer at Steak, Cattle & Roll is going to go down a right treat.

Years after the burger joint retired its Mammoth Burger Challenge, the epic food test is back - for one month only.

One of the most notorious food challenges in Glasgow came to an end in 2017 - but now you have one last chance to give it a go, if you’re brave (or hungry) enough.

This January, Steak, Cattle & Roll in Merchant Square are challenging Glaswegians to eat the city's biggest burger in just 60 minutes.

Sounds easy, right? But for the record, the whopping whopper is a 42oz burger topped with 12oz of sirloin steak, 16 rashers of bacon, 10 slices of cheddar, three tomatoes, salad, relish and mayonnaise all contained in one 10in brioche bun.

In case you’re considering it, the challenge is 60 minutes with no toilet breaks and no sharing. Reckon you could complete it?

The restaurant put an end to the challenge three years ago after swearing it was just too difficult, with only two people completing in almost two years - and 300 trying and failing to conquer the mountain of meat.

Taking to Facebook, the burger bosses said: “And just like that...IT'S BACK. After three years our Mammoth Burger Challenge is making a comeback .

"Are you up for the challenge? 60 mins on the clock + 1 MAMMOTH BURGER ."

Hundreds of you have commented calling on your pals to take on the Steak, Rattle and Roll's foodie feast.

Interested? The Merchant Square branch of Steak, Cattle & Roll say to get in touch asap to book your place. Get in touch with the restaurant here.
