Stay Senor singer Paulie Belta to headline Rafa's Leaving Party in Newcastle

He's the man who covered a classic song in the Newcastle boss' honour but now Paulie Belta will headline an event to mark Rafa Benitez's departure from the club.

It was announced earlier this week that and just like many other NUFC fans, Paulie is sad to see him go.

And not just because he's a big fan of the Spaniard, he recorded a song to try and convince him to say at the club.

Paulie, real name Paul O'Brien,re-worked Shake Senora, or Jump in the Line to give it its proper title, with amazing results and an even more amazing video that went down a storm on Youtube in March.

Now he'll have the bittersweet job of performing his version - Stay Senor - in front of a packed crowd at The Old George on Saturday evening.

Paulie is the star attraction at the Bigg Market pub's Rafa's Leaving Party, which will be held in its courtyard as temperatures are predicted to hit 25 degrees in Newcastle this weekend.

Entry is free and as well as performing Stay Senor, Paulie will perform his Geordie re-workings of other famous tracks including Keegan Walks (a cover of Jesus Walks by Kanye West), Coal Digger (a cover of Gold Digger by Kanye West) and UpToon Drunk (a cover of Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk).

All of the tracks appear on his debut album Sound Pet which is available to buy in Newcastle from RPM Records, Reflex, Grainger Music and The Strawberry.

It's also available to download online from Paul's Bandcamp page.
