Stay in a cabin in Cheshire for a 'digital detox' where your phone gets locked away

Unplugged, the UK's original off grid cabin escape has launched a new site called 'Luna' near Tarporley in Cheshire.

The experience offers brave guests a three night 'digital detox' surrounded by nature to give visitors the ultimate break to switch off, relax, and improve overall wellbeing. On arrival, guests must lock their mobiles in a lockbox for three days which are swapped for an old school Nokia (with Snake included!).

Also included on the digital detox will be a map and an instant camera with film. Each solar powered and eco-friendly cabin is equipped with books, games and a kitchen, but no Wi-Fi. The 72 hour detox is said to give visitors a dopamine boost, better productivity, better sleep quality and the 'feeling of being more engaged'.

Luna is the first digital detox cabin in the North of England, just minutes away from the popular Cheshire 'Sandstone Trail'. Guests can cosy up in front of the log fire and wake up to views of the countryside, all while your phone is locked in the lockbox.

A cassette player, instant camera and board games are also provided for a serious sense of nostalgia, and the cabin is also pet friendly. Full features include:

  • Luxury king size bed with Piglet bedding
  • Fully equipped kitchen
  • Fresh tea and coffee
  • Hot shower, luxury towels and toiletries
  • Outdoor fire pit and indoor wood stove with logs
  • Instant camera with 10 pack of film
  • Board games, books and cassette player
  • Phone lockbox for a 3 night digital detox
  • Outdoor seating and parasol
  • Parking

One visitor review read: "Oh my god, our stay was BEAUTIFUL, genuinely up there hitting the top spot on our favourite UK breaks! I've kept my phone on do not disturb since we got back and it's actually changed my life."

A second review read: "We locked our phones in a box and for three days we truly enjoyed undisturbed and undistracted time with each other."

The Luna cabin is a 50 minute drive from Liverpool near Tarporley in Cheshire on a working farm. Tarporley's selection of pubs and tearooms are also just a short walk from the cabin.

Talking about the unique experience, co-founder Hector Hughes said: "Unplugged is the antidote of city life and we're stoked to be able to help the busy folk of Liverpool switch off from work, notifications and endless zoom calls. We've helped thousands of people around London escape to nature and switch off their phones for a few days. And we're pumped to be bringing this to the people of Liverpool."
