Stay Close: What to know about new James Nesbitt thriller on Netflix

New Netflix mystery drama Stay Close is set to premiere on Netflix at the end of this year.

The series, which is the latest Netflix adaption of a novel by American writer Harlan Coben, features Ballymena actor James Nesbitt in a leading role.

What is Stay Close?

Stay Close is a mystery drama which has been adapted from the 2012 novel of the same name by Harlan Coben.

A description of the series reads: "With trademark thrills, gripping suspense and secrets of past crimes beginning to unravel, Stay Close questions how much you really know someone.

"Four people each conceal dark secrets from those closest to them; Megan (Jumbo) a working mother of three, Ray (Armitage), a once-promising documentary photographer, Broome (Nesbitt) a detective unable to let go of a missing person’s cold case, and Lorraine (Parish), an old friend of Megan's. As the past comes back to haunt them, threatening to ruin their lives and the lives of those around them, what will be their next move?"

When will Stay Close be released?

The mystery drama will arrive on Netflix on New Year's Eve (December 31st).

The series will contain 8 episodes, which are each listed as being 45 minutes long.

Who stars in Stay Close and where have I seen them before?

The main cast members for Stay Close include Richard Armitage, who previously starred in Coben's The Stranger .

It also has English actor Cush Jumbo, who starred in Deadwater Fall , and Sarah Parish, who is known for playing the title role in ITV's Bancroft .

The series will also star Northern Irish actor James Nesbitt, who has become a household name on TV throughout the past two decades, with appearances in Cold Feet, Murphy's Law, Jekyll, The Missing, and 2021 local drama Bloodlands .
