“Good coordination is being maintained among various agencies during monsoon this year and instructions were given to all the agencies during the review and coordination meeting to implement the disaster management procedures more effectively,” said an official.

During the meeting additional municipal commissioner Ashwini Bhide, directed for more effective implementation of preventive measures in areas prone to landslides.

“Various matters related to disaster management were reviewed,” the official added.

Last month 29 people died and six others were injured in two incidents of landslides in Mahul and Vikhroli after heavy rainfall.
