'Stats don't lie' - Nottingham Forest fans debate midfielder's future after transfer rumour

Nottingham Forest midfielder Samba Sow has been linked with a move to Turkish side Erzurumspor.

The 31-year-old established himself as a key figure for the Reds last season, after arriving at the City Ground from Dinamo Moscow in August 2019.

However, knee problems hampered the Malian, who has since returned fitness and played regularly alongside Ryan Yates, making 15 appearances this season.

Sow is out of contract in the summer, but is keen to stay on. With his contract situation unresolved and the transfer window closing on Monday night, there has been plenty of debate on his future on our Facebook page.

Darren Oram : Rather keep him until the end of the season a rock in midfield

John Horsnall: He wins loads in midfield... but if he gets booked early , which he does every game he’s a liability , he ain’t the quickest is he ??

Richard Leonard: Sow has taken a bit to get back to match fitness as he was out for some time. When you are missing that sharpness, you are late in tackles and get booked. Out of all our midfield, he is the best one we have. Stats don’t lie . When he plays well we do well.

Alan Wells : Maybe time to get rid, he's prone to injury and collecting early yellow cards!

Alasdair Quinn : A key player? No he is not. Sow on his day is a good player but he has knee problems and cannot play the games we need him to play.

Richie Reardon: The stats show when he plays we are harder to beat..not saying he’s the best I’ve seen, yes injuries and yellow cards..but for me still the best player in front of back 4 for breaking up play..and winning the ball back..with Yates next best..
