Stats and Highlights: Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins records 23 points vs. his former team

After being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, Andrew Wiggins spent the next five and a half seasons of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Following his Rookie of the Year honor in 2014-15, the Kansas product went on to rank in the top five for the Minnesota franchise in field goals, 3-point field goals, free throws, steals and points.

After being moved to the Golden State Warriors in a blockbuster deal at the last year’s trade deadline, Wiggins lined up across from his former team for the first time on Monday night.

Wiggins was a key factor in Golden State’s 130-108 win over the Timberwolves at Chase Center on Monday night. The 25-year-old tallied 23 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field with six boards in 30 minutes.

Along with his 23 points, Wiggins made an impact on the defensive side of the floor, recording two blocks and two steals against the Timberwolves. Wiggins has now swiped three blocks in back-to-back contests. The 6-foot-8 wing ranks seventh in the NBA with 28 blocks on the season.
