Statistical breakdown: How the Commanders and Broncos stack up ahead of Week 2 game

The Washington Commanders are on the road for the first time in the 2023 season on Sunday when they head west to face the Denver Broncos. If the Commanders win, they’ll be 2-0 for the first time since 201l — Mike Shanahan’s second season in Washington and one year before Kirk Cousins and Robert Griffin III entered the NFL.

Washington defeated Arizona 20-16 in the season opener behind a terrific defensive effort. Offensively, quarterback Sam Howell did some good things but also made some mistakes that led to points for the Cardinals.
