'Statement of intent' - Hibs fans react to Kyle Magennis signing five-year deal at Easter Road

Kyle Magennis has finally confirmed his move to Hibernian, with the St Mirren captain inking a five-year deal at Easter Road.

The 22-year-old has been a long term target for Jack Ross, who can now celebrate the recruitment of a midfielder after a long summer of missing out on some key players.

The news has been welcomed by the Easter Road faithful, who also retain hopes of adding another name before the window closes at midnight this evening.

Magennis revealed he was "excited by the challenge" of pulling on the green and white shirt as he boy spoke of his "pride" at sealing the deal.

That sentiment was echoed by brother Keiron, who posted on Twitter: "Another proud day following my younger brothers journey in the football world. What a massive opportunity at such a big club. Never seen someone be so patient and hardworking through what he went through in January. Losing him in the family home but you’ll smash this lad."

Here's what the Hibs fans are saying about the move:

'Massive statement of intent from the Hibees!!' - @LeeMC2105

'Is this how it feels to be small?' - @Liam_F1875

'Can’t help but feel this is another very good signing from hibs!! A 5 year deal speaks volumes also both of the player and ambition of the club' - @Darrenneal93

'It’s almost unheard of for Scottish clubs to offer four & five year deals but I feel it’s a brilliant sign of faith and protects Hibs’ investment' - @EuanBRobertson
