Statement issued after air ambulance and police called to Southglade Leisure Centre

Police, paramedics and the air ambulance were called to Southglade Leisure Centre in Bestwood after reports of a medical emergency.

The air ambulance landed at the site at about 7.50am on Wednesday, August 25. Three police vehicles and three ambulances were pictured outside the leisure centre.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police has confirmed the force was called to reports of a medical incident and that a man was taken to hospital.

The spokesperson added: "Police have been called to assist with a medical emergency in Southglade Road, Bestwood, at 7.40am today.

"There are no suspicious circumstances."

A spokesman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 7.29am on 25 August to a commercial property in Bestwood.

"The caller reported a medical emergency.

"We sent a paramedic in a fast response car and a double-crewed ambulance.

"The air ambulance was also in attendance.

"One patient was taken to Nottingham City Hospital via double-crewed ambulance.”

The air ambulance left the scene at about 9.50am.
