Statement from NFLPA could derail Cardinals’ workouts with Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and 20 of his offensive teammates were supposed to get together in Dallas for a few days to get together and do some workouts on the field, the first time all offseason they will have been on the field together.

Murray paid for the entire trip — travel, lodging, food and activities.

However, those plans could be derailed by the players association.

The NFLPA released a statement from its medical director, discouraging players from working out together.

There has been an increase of cases of the coronavirus in many states, including Texas. The Cardinals players’ workouts were expected to follow social distancing guidelines. Since tickets were already paid for and reservations made, it is possible they decide to still do things on a limited basis, but it would be against the NFLPA’s advice.

The Cardinals are finished with their offseason program and are off until training camp. Under normal circumstances, the Cardinals would be schedule to report July 28. With current conditions, no one knows yet when that will be able to happen.
