Statement after fire service called to Queen's Medical Centre

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service has explained why crews from four stations were called to Queen's Medical Centre on Tuesday morning, May 11.

A woman who did not wish to be named told Nottinghamshire Live a fire engine was seen outside A&E and people were queuing outside the delivery suite drop off point.

A picture showed around 10 people queuing outside the entrance.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Highfields, Stapleford, London Road and Stockhill responded to reports of a fire at the QMC, Clifton Boulevard at 11:50am however this was a false alarm."
