Millions of women are set to receive higher State Pension rates this year.
From April, millions of people will see their full basic state pension increase from £137.60 per week to £141.85.
The state pension is a two tier system, made up of the old basic state pension, and the new state pension.

The older scheme is for women born before April 6, 1953, and men born before April 6, 1951.
Those on this scheme can also expect increases to the state pension in the coming year.
A particular group of women in this category should note the details of the changes.
Those receiving the Married Woman’s Pension can expect an increase this year.
It is applicable to individuals on the older ‘basic’ state pension scheme.
The full basic state pension has been confirmed to increase from April 2022 onwards.
It will rise from the current £137.60 per week, to a new rate of £141.85 weekly.
The Married Woman’s Pension is linked directly to the basic state pension.
The sum is worth 60% of the rate of the basic state pension.
At present, married women who claim this will be receiving approximately £82.45 per week.
However, 60% of £141.85 is calculated at £85.11 per week.
Consequently, this rise is expected for married women who are eligible in the coming month.
Across the year, this could be worth approximately £4,425.72, or £340.44 per month, says the Express.
People do not get their state pension automatically - it has to be claimed.
This can be done by calling the claim line, or downloading the state pension claim form and sending it to a local pension centre.
If a person already claims the state pension, it does not mean they cannot find out more about it.
