A schoolboy who was bullied for sharing a surname with President Donald Trump has won fans on social media after he fell asleep during the State of the Union address.
Joshua Trump, who is not related to the president, was removed from school two years ago because taunts about his surname became so severe that he told his mum he had lost the will to live.
The 11-year-old was invited to the annual State of the Union address by First Lady Melania Trump, who he sat two seats along from as President Trump spoke on Tuesday night.
Joshua, from Wilmington, Delaware, won fans on social media after he was spotted falling asleep during the speech, with one person writing on Twitter: “Joshua Trump rules”.
“Joshua Trump is a Trump I can get behind,” one wrote, while another welcomed him “to the resistance”.
The 11-year-old previously said he was thankful for the support from Ms Trump, who has championed anti-bullying efforts in her role as first lady.
