A state-employed medical health technician faces charges after she allegedly struck a resident at a suburban long-term care facility in December.

Brandy Johnson was employed with the Illinois Department of Human Services when she allegedly grabbed the resident during an altercation and bruised her body, Illinois State Police said in a statement.

The incident happened Dec. 16 at the Ann Kiley Developmental Center in Waukegan, state police said.

Johnson, 42, was arrested Wednesday after an investigation by the state police’s Division of Internal Investigation. The Beach Park resident faces a count each of aggravated battery of someone 60 or over and abuse of a long-term care facility resident.

She was being held at the Lake County Jail awaiting a Wednesday court hearing. Court information was not immediately available.
