BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan briefed the state culture department on the preparations being made for the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day celebrations in a meeting held at Mantralaya on Saturday.
Chouhan directed that the state’s Foundation Day celebrations should be held at Lal Parade Ground with 50% attendance under Covid Protocol. The theme of the programmes should be centered on Madhya Pradesh and on the contribution of citizens in the making of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh.
The events should be grand and entertaining, and everyone should feel a sense of affiliation with the programmes. For this purpose, a three-day programme should be outlined.
Chouhan also directed drama performances on girl child education, industrialisation and other subjects. Chouhan said that exhibitions should not only be held in Bhopal but should also be extended to the districts.
Chouhan said that participation of other departments should also be ensured in the Foundation Day programmes. He also directed that people who have done outstanding work in various fields, including those who have made significant contribution in vaccinations and other woks of service during the pandemic period, should also be honoured.
Chouhan said that the outline prepared on performance by eminent singers from Bollywood is commendable. Chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains highlighted the need to seek the cooperation of Madhya Pradesh Madhyam team in the light-and-sound show and other presentations on Foundation day. Principal secretary, culture, Shivshekhar Shukla briefed about the various activities being carried out on the Foundation Day.
