Starz Announces New Cast Additions For The Hunting Wives Series

Brittany Snow

Starz is expanding its cast for the upcoming thriller series, The Hunting Wives, based on May Cobb's novel. Joining the ensemble are Chrissy Metz, Jaime Ray Newman, Katie Lowes, and George Ferrier. The drama series, produced by Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment, already boasts a star-studded lineup including Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Dermot Mulroney, and Evan Jonigkeit.

The Hunting Wives, currently in production in Charlotte, North Carolina, follows Sophie O'Neill (played by Brittany Snow) as she relocates with her family to deep East Texas. There, she falls under the spell of socialite Margo Bank (portrayed by Malin Akerman), leading to a gripping narrative of obsession, seduction, and murder.

Chrissy Metz, known for her role in This Is Us, takes on the character of Starr, a proud working-class woman deeply involved in her church. Starr's daughter, Abby, is dating Brad (George Ferrier), the star point guard, but their relationship faces challenges due to their exclusion from the elite circle of the Hunting Wives.

Katie Lowes, recognized for her work in Scandal and Inventing Anna, plays Jill, the wife of a minister and a prominent figure in the mega church. Jill's overbearing interest in her son Brad's life leads to conflicts with Starr and her daughter Abby.

George Ferrier's character, Brad, appears as the quintessential Texan with a promising future. However, beneath his facade lie hidden secrets, including a complex relationship with his mother and a scandalous affair with one of her close friends.

Jaime Ray Newman, known for her roles in Dopesick and Little Fires Everywhere, portrays Callie, the wife of the town's influential sheriff and second-in-command among the Hunting Wives. Callie's deep affection for Margo sparks jealousy when newcomer Sophie arrives on the scene.

The adaptation of May Cobb's novel is helmed by Rebecca Cutter, known for her work on Starz's Hightown, who serves as the showrunner for The Hunting Wives. Executive producers include Erwin Stoff from 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb herself.

With an intriguing storyline and a talented cast, The Hunting Wives promises to deliver a thrilling and captivating viewing experience for audiences.
