Carrie Morgan, managing director at The Sales Way, explains why the business should win the Startup of the Year category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition:
The Sales Way originally started with an aim to provide sales playbook creation services to UK technology companies; helping them to better communicate with their potential clients. Over the past year, we have expanded to offer sales process workshops and a wide range of content marketing and thought leadership services, tailored specifically for the IT and engineering sectors.
We moved into our first office, and then out again, when we found it just didn’t suit us and our plans. In our second year we doubled our revenues and rebranded our entire business based on what we had learnt from being in business for a year.
Our main achievement this year has been our acceptance onto the Entrepreneurial Spark Programme in Manchester. In summer 2015, we applied to the Espark programme which is a business incubator for startup and growth-focused businesses which provides free state-of-the-art city office space and mentoring for startups.
We had to do a presentation and an interview about our business model and growth trajectory and were fortunate enough to be accepted onto the February 2016 intake into their Manchester hub.
This will change the business as we grow and develop sales-focused apps to support our content marketing services. 2016 will be an exciting year for us.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
