Marco De Nichilo, founder of Dronely Ltd, explains why the business should win the Startup of the Year category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition:
Within its first 6 months of operation, Dronely won the Young SCOT EDGE Award 2015 and significant cash prize to develop and grow our innovative suite of drone services, tools and products.
We have worked with some of the UK’s most prestigious organisations and filmed some of the nation’s most unique structures, such as The Great Pagoda in Kew Gardens London.
We are developing accessory safety products for drones, such as after-market altitude detection alarms that allow for safer operation in congested areas, as well as our mobile app products that enable commercial and enthusiast pilots alike to plan, execute and log flights in the safest possible manner.
From our industry leading aerial footage and inspection (and Oscar-nominated musical and video composition skills), to our FlySafe mobile apps and platforms and our own line of Drone Flight Safety accessories, we are already a leading voice in safe and successful operation of drones in the UK and we aim to put Dronely at the forefront of UK drone operators.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
