Caroline Law, director of Cloud Edits Ltd, explains why the business should win the Startup of the Year category of the Guardian Small Business Showcase competition:
Cloud Edits was launched online in December 2014, providing a cloud based post-production service using a network of professionals.
The revolution in the way video is viewed is leading to a change in the way it is produced. Using cloud editing, video content producers have access to great post production talent, raising the quality of their productions. There is no minimum booking, giving a wider range of video makers access to great post-production.
Professionals in all areas of post production; offline and online editors, colour graders, dubbing mixers and motion graphics designers can collaborate on productions, depending on the requirements.
The service uses new ways of working for the broadcast industry and cloud working. Video can be uploaded directly onto the Cloud Edits website and other file transfer services.
Post-production professionals are excited by the prospect, with eight new cloud editors and two motion graphics designers ready to join and the list is growing rapidly. Talented professionals can work in the industry they love whilst having a life balance, attracting a diverse crew.
Caroline Law, the founder of Cloud Edits, spoke on “The Future of Story Telling” panel at the Broadcast Video Expo 2016. They received a lot of interest as it was their first exhibition there this year.
All entries which meet the competition criteria are published and our judging panel select a shortlist of the top three for each category. Winners are announced at an awards ceremony in summer 2016.
