Startup of the year 2014: Unravel & Unwind

I launched a Facebook page in December 2013 to put the idea of a full-time community craft drop-in and workshop centre out to the public. In March 2014 the drop-in studio officially opened.

I successfully received a grant to trial the idea for a couple of months, and in May the drop-in and workshops became self-funded. I secured another grant from [Kent housing association] Town & Country Housing Group to subsidise arts and craft sessions to support adults with learning disabilities.

Finally, I have just been nominated for a Pride in Medway 2015 award.
