Name: Tommy and Lottie
Based: St Albans
Website: www.tommyandlottie.com
We are an extremely small startup but have grown quite a bit in such a short space of time. We launched in March 2013, so we are under a year old, and pride ourselves on producing unisex luxury baby T-shirts made in an ethical and sustainable place.
Cotton is grown near to the factory, the local community is employed to work and are not only given jobs but also taught life-long skills. We already have seven stockists and we are planning to exhibit at our first trade fair in July this year.
We currently do T-shirts for ages three months to two years but will be launching new lines such as trousers and hats by the summer.
By February we will have a short animation showing customers why our T-shirts are ethical and sustainable from crop to customer. It is just myself who runs the business and I have to juggle it between my two children’s (Tommy & Lottie) needs.
High-end magazines have contacted us to feature in them but we are waiting until we have a bigger collection. Our website was awarded bronze by Mumpreneur UK and we will be entering more competitions once our range has grown.
