The appetite for organic and plant-based food products has led to a market opportunity. Consumers are now nutritionally literate and seek out convenient, pure, food sources.
I was a former PR agency owner-turned-nutritionist and I was one of those consumers who followed a plant-based and organic diet. I believed there was a gap in the market for a range of pure and organic plant-based proteins. I researched the market to find ingredients like pumpkin seed protein powder. I used these as the basis for my two-in-one plant protein superfoods - organic plant proteins combined with superfoods.
I sourced suppliers from across the world, dealt with regulatory matters, established a supply chain and developed the brand with my co-founder.
We developed our recipes, website, brand identity and packaging on our own. In only five months, the company secured distribution deals in UK, Ireland and Bulgaria. Our products are now on sale in Planet Organic and other health food shops across the UK, Ireland and Bulgaria, as well as online.
