My business mission was to create a cake shop for the modern generation, leaving tradition behind and making it easy to order bespoke cakes online. There wasn’t much to compare the business to, so with the help of my partner, who is a software developer, we created it from scratch in February 2014.
I’ve built many great relationships with small business owners in Wiltshire and beyond over the past year, and many of them have gained some brilliant exposure with the help of my branded cakes.
There is no other UK cake website offering the level of customisation I’ve created, which makes it easy and enjoyable to purchase bespoke cakes online.
While I’m working alone at the moment, my online system should make it easy to eventually recruit more bakers and take orders through my website, which can then be made and delivered all over the UK.
In a very traditional industry, I’m changing the way people order cakes for special occasions, and removing the need for deposits and long-winded discussions before money changes hands.
Meetings can be arranged for weddings and corporate orders but the majority of customers should find the website shopping system gives them everything they need to place their order, with no limit on the creativity of the designs.
