IrisFit was formed 12 months ago and in that time we have been working towards our mission of inspiring disabled people through fitness.
Our values are simple: inclusion – inclusion in life against all obstacles that gives people their own purpose; respect – respecting each and every individual’s needs and aspirations; independence – independence to seek new opportunities and build new friendships; safe and supportive – safe and supportive environment for disabled people to thrive and grow.
IrisFit is a fitness company that specialises in working with disabled people. There is nothing of its kind in the Midlands and it is growing everyday. Our vision is to provide a network of personal trainers specialising in disability fitness across the UK. Our director Jess has grown the business to a point where we are actually now taking on staff members to assist with the day-to-day duties.
Building the business over the last six months Jess has gone from jotting a few ideas down on a whiteboard to securing nine clients a week and five group classes a week across different parts of Stoke-on-Trent. Her main aim is to provide a service that is tailored to meet each individual’s needs so that people with disabilities do not get forgotten about in the fitness world.
Coming from a very well paid job and taking a risk to follow her dream career, Jess is not only proving that it is a lucrative business in terms of cashflow but she is also helping people.
