After making chocolate treats with my little girl I decided I’d like to start up my own business running chocolate workshops.
In September 2013, with lots of help from my best friend, I started up a mobile chocolate business, advertising it on social media, handing out business cards and booking a local community centre by the hour.
It started filling up every Sunday and so I decided to open a workshop. In July 2014, I sourced a local business centre and we’re now filling the workshop every weekend for the general public, private parties and groups like Brownies and Scouts. We are especially great for people with learning difficulties as this assists with them learning new skills, being sociable and pushing their abilities.
I change the workshop on a daily basis, allowing customers to make truffles, lollies, a signature chocolate pizza and to decorate cakes and biscuits.
Along with the chocolate making I also let the children decorate their own paper bag to take home, and along with the chocolate we now theme certain items.
For example our ‘Frozen’ day has children making blue lollies with sparkles, and then at the crafting table they decorate their bag with all things Frozen-related.
This year we have various themes like Minions, The Wizard of Oz, Christmas and Halloween.
