The Wild Peanut has come leaps and bounds over the past 18 months. Quite simply, 18 months ago I was £1,000 in debt (after I left a previous business to follow my passion to do this), with literally just an idea to create a peanut butter brand and not an idea of how the food industry works to having sold over 10,000 jars, launched in Harvey Nichols and Holland & Barrett nationwide and on final stage terms with two of the major supermarkets.
I also have expanded the team, having taken on six interns, as well as gaining investment with a global food company to help the growth.
We are planning to export to Europe by this spring, as well as launching a nut bar to add to the brand portfolio, not to mention a state-of-the-art loyalty scheme attached to our products.
What I am most proud of however is the fact that we are genuinely close to being in a position where we can help change and affect lives positively in the African drylands, through the help of Tree Aid - the charity we are in partnership with.
