White Sox, Tigers rained out

The White Sox scheduled game against the Tigers at Guaranteed Rate Field has been rained out.

The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader September 27 beginning at 3:40 p.m. CT. The originally scheduled contest will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the opener.

Fans with game tickets, parking coupons and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes to the originally scheduled game on September 27 can attend both games with their ticket and parking pass. Parking lots will open at 1:40 p.m. and gates at 2:40 p.m.

It was the third postponement between the Sox and Tigers this season, including April 20 at Comerica Park and April 27 at Guaranteed Rate Field. The clubs are scheduled to play split doubleheaders Wednesday and August 6 in Detroit.

The rain began shortly after 7 p.m., minutes before the scheduled 7:10 start and after both starting pitchers had warmed up.

Right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (4-7, 6.12 ERA) was scheduled to start for the Sox and left-hander Matthew Boyd (5-6, 3.72 ERA) was scheduled for the Tigers.
