Stars out for hottest day at Doncaster's St Leger Festival

Doncaster Races saw one of the hottest days in its history yesterday, as the mercury hit 29C

The launch day for the Cazoo St Leger Festival saw thousands of eager race-goers hit the stands, boxes and champagne lawns, to kick off the Doncaster flat racing in style.

X-Factor winners Real Like You (who won the last show in 2019) were seen at the races.

Halle Williams and Virginia Hampson took some time out of their studio recording sessions this week to treat themselves, with their managers close by their side.

The girls appeared at the racecourse for a day out on Cazoo St Leger Festival launch day.

This year, the Cazoo St Leger Festival at Doncaster Racecourse is challenging Royal Ascot Ladies Day in the style-stakes and has hired high-end fashionista, Sarah Kate Byrne, who styles ITV’s racing presenter, Francesca Cumani, to create a style guide, promoting the ultimate in racing glamour at Ladies Day.

Halle said: “We knew we were going to have a lovely day off from recording, but this sunshine! Yorkshire’s looking just beautiful in the sunshine! I think this racing festival might be up there as one of the best you know”.

Rachel Harwood of Doncaster Racecourse said: “We have seen more interest in the Cazoo St Leger Festival than ever before, as we are one of the first major racing Festivals this year to be all singing all dancing, without most of the pandemic restrictions - our Cazoo St Leger Day on Saturday is nearly sold out.”
