Stars of the Edinburgh Festival set to appear at a new London venue this summer

Earls Court which will be home to the London Wonderground festival

Some of the stand out stars of the Edinburgh Festival could appear at a new London venue this summer.

Acts who prove a hit in Scotland will be on stage as part of London Wonderground, which is set to take over the Earls Court 2 Exhibition Centre from July to September.

The free-to-enter event includes a mixture of free and ticketed shows as well as bars, fairground rides and an outdoor beach.

Shows will be performed in two indoor venues including a 36-metre Big Top with plans for socially-distanced seating if that is still needed when they open.

Ed Bartlam, Director of Underbelly which is staging the festival, said: “We can’t wait to give our festival goers from London and beyond that live entertainment experience again and to play our part in bringing some much-needed fun and socialising back to people’s lives this summer.

“London Wonderground at Earls Court will do just that, with something for everyone, free entry to the site and a jam packed programme of live shows to make you smile, laugh and gasp. Add to that, outdoor food and drink, vintage rides and even a beach, and we think London Wonderground can truly become London’s staycation destination this summer.”
