Stars back Wigan paper's concert hall campaign

Some of Britain's top celebrities have backed the Wigan Evening Post's campaign for a new theatre and concert hall. Ken Dodd, Johnny Vegas and Dave Spikey, have all spoken up for the idea of an entertainment venue to replace the Mill at the Pier. Borough officers have now been asked to reconsider plans for a £6m hall, rejected earlier this month because of a ballooning budget. Dodd said he supported the campaign because of "wonderful, wonderful" Wigan audiences. (Via Wigan Evening Post)
