Starmer says attacks on British Jews ‘a crisis for all of us’

  • Sir Keir Starmer is set to convene senior figures from across public life to drive a “whole of society” response to antisemitism.
  • The initiative follows a terror incident in Golders Green where two Jewish men were stabbed, with the alleged attacker, Essa Suleiman, remanded in custody.
  • Starmer will warn that attacks on British Jews are “a crisis for all of us” and “a test of our values”, urging collective responsibility.
  • He will hold roundtable discussions with leaders from business, civil society, health, culture, higher education, and policing to tackle antisemitism in their sectors.
  • The Prime Minister will also address the domestic security implications of the Iran war, including a heightened threat to Jewish communities, during a ministerial meeting.
