- Pamela Nash has resigned as parliamentary private secretary (PPS) to John Healey , following his decision to quit as Defence Secretary in a dispute over funding for the armed forces
- The Labour MP announced in a letter to the Prime Minister published on social media on Thursday evening.
- In her letter, Nash stated that “this is not an action I take lightly”, as she added “our country is more divided now than it has ever been in my lifetime”.
- Nash added that “we must do better” in order to prevent Labour’s opponents getting into power.
- It is another blow to Keir Starmer after Healey quit earlier on Thursday afternoon, although the Prime Minister insisted his defence funding plan is sufficient to keep Britain safe.
