Staring Santa

An image of Santa Claus and a reindeer made with 10,000 carnation petals is on display at the observation deck of Abeno Harukas, the nation's tallest building, in Osaka. About 20 members of the Hanae Cultural Association created the Santa image on Thursday, giving him a cross-eyed kabuki-style nirami glare -- which is believed to purge noxious evil -- in the hope of warding off the coronavirus. The image will be on display through Monday.
